About High Infrequency

What?

highinfrequency.com is the photoblog of John P. Reardon (a.k.a. JP Reardon). As the title of this site implies, there is no schedule for posting photos here. For that reason it is highly recommended that you use one of the methods described on the subscribe page to inform you of updates to this site.

Why?

I’ve always loved photography. I enjoy taking pictures and seeing the results. Sometimes those results are frustrating, sometimes they are magical. In many cases, the pictures that frustrated me the most ended up being some of the most satisfying after a bit of post processing work. I used to shoot primarily in black and white with a Pentax K1000, normally I would also handle the development and processing as well. It has been many years since I have had access to a darkroom or shot with my K1000, but, more recently, I have come to enjoy shooting and editing digitally.

By having a place to show my work regularly, I hope to shoot more regularly thereby improving my technique. Hopefully others will get some enjoyment from viewing my pictures. Furthermore, I encourage everyone to offer constructive criticism so that I can use it to improve my composition and technical skills.

Q: Hey, that’s ______ (choose one: me, my kid, my house, my office, my S.O.)! How can I get a high quality print?

A: High quality prints are available by request. Please contact me for details.

Q: I carefully read your copyright notice and recognize that it prohibits commercial use. However, I would like to use one of your images for commercial purposes. Can we work something out?

A: Probably, but it will depend on the intended use and the subject of the photograph. As is usually the case, contact me and we can talk about it.

Q: How did you do that???

A: I’ve had many questions along the way, and when I have posed them to members of the photoblog and/or technology community they have been more than helpful. If you have any questions as to how something was done on this site or with a particular image, just ask by posting a comment or contacting me and I’ll be happy to help.
